Meet DJI's Premier Action Camera with Variable Aperture

The Osmo Action 6 offers greater shooting flexibility by being DJI's first action camera with a variable f/2.0 -f/4.0 aperture [4]. This departure from the traditional fixed-aperture design provides aperture modes adaptable to diverse scenarios [4].

Greater Aperture, Endless Creativity

The f/2.0 [4] maximum aperture gives the Osmo Action 6 an edge in low light, resulting in clearly enhanced image quality. Attach the Macro Lens [5] to capture impressive close-ups of food or pets with an attractive shallow depth of field, even at short shooting distances [5].

Control Your Light, Define Your Style

Auto mode [4] delivers clear and balanced images by letting you choose from several aperture ranges. The camera then automatically adjusts the aperture within that range, adapting perfectly to everything from dark night scenes to bright, detailed landscapes.

Starburst Mode: Make Light Sources Shine [6]

Make your night shots truly stand out. In bright night scenes, Starburst mode [6] transforms city lights into captivating starbursts for a stunning, eye-catching effect.

Notes

  1. This data is for reference only and was collected in a controlled lab at 25° C (77° F). The test was run recording 1080p/24fps (16:9) video with RockSteady on, while Wi-Fi, Voice Control, Gesture Control, and screens were all off. Please note: Users in the EU and UK may experience different battery life due to local product operating temperature regulations. Your actual user experience will vary.

  2. Two DJI microphones are required for this feature, which are sold separately. Note: The first-generation DJI Mic is not compatible with a direct connection.
  3. Before water use, users must close the Battery Compartment Cover, seal the USB-C Port Cover, and tighten the Glass Lens Cover. It is recommended to install the Waterproof Case for long-term underwater shooting or in environments with high water impact pressure. Both the camera and case are IP68 rated. Do not use the camera in hot springs, extreme underwater environments, or expose it to corrosive or unknown liquids. Please note that the shutter/record button is disabled at approximately 0.14 MPa (around 14m depth). The actual depth for this limitation may vary depending on water conditions, air pressure, and device status.

  4. Auto mode provides five selectable aperture ranges, allowing you to choose between f/2.0–f/4.0 (the default), f/2.2–f/4.0, f/2.4–f/4.0, f/2.6–f/4.0, and f/2.8–f/4.0. Alternatively, "Large Aperture (f/2.0)" mode locks the aperture at f/2.0. Be aware that certain shooting modes and accessories may limit these aperture options. For complete details, please consult the FAQ on DJI's official Osmo Action 6 website.
  5. The Osmo Action 6 Macro Lens is sold separately and is not included in the Standard Combo. When attached, it allows for a focus distance between 11 cm and 75 cm. Please be aware that the lens is splash-resistant only and cannot be used underwater (e.g., for diving). Additionally, attaching the Macro Lens may restrict certain shooting modes or functions; refer to the actual device display for details.
  6. The Starburst (f/4.0) aperture mode is recommended for optimal results when shooting in urban night scenes that are brighter than 80 lux.
  7. While SuperNight mode supports 10-bit color, it is incompatible with HorizonBalancing, HorizonSteady, 155° ultra-wide FOV, and 4:3. Aperture mode availability may also be limited. For full details, see the FAQ on DJI's official Osmo Action 6 website.
  8. The 10-bit D-Log M color mode is available in standard video, Slow Motion, and Hyperlapse modes.
  9. You can create 32x Super Slow Motion with just one tap in the camera's playback interface. To use this feature, simply record a standard video at 1080p/240fps first. Please note this effect is a 960fps equivalent, generated at 1080p via in-camera interpolation, not native 4K.
  10. Please note that EIS is not supported in Timelapse and Slow Motion modes on the Osmo Action 6. HorizonSteady and HorizonBalancing are available for 16:9 video (1080p/2.7K/4K at 60fps or less) and 4K Custom videos (60fps or less).
  11. Please note that 2x lossless zoom is unavailable when taking 38MP and 34MP photos. It is also not supported in SuperNight, Subject Tracking, Slow Motion, and Timelapse modes.
  12. This feature requires a 16:9 aspect ratio and a frame rate below 100fps.
  13. Make sure your firmware is updated to the latest version to enable this feature.
  14. The water pressure gauge activates at a 1-meter depth and only functions when the camera is submerged without a waterproof case.
  15. You can start or stop recording (or take a photo) with a simple gesture: just raise your hand and show an open palm. This works with either hand from up to 2 meters away. For best results, make sure not to cover your head with your hands. Please note that the effective distance may vary with future firmware updates.
  16. This feature works with cycling data imported from Huawei Watch/Band, Apple Watch, Garmin devices, or third-party FIT files.
  17. Please note that the Osmo Action 6 FOV Boost Lens is sold separately and does not come in the Standard Combo. This lens is splash-resistant only and not intended for underwater use (e.g., diving). Additionally, Slow Motion is not supported when the FOV Boost Lens is attached.
  18. The Osmo Action 6's native FOV reaches up to 155°, which expands to 182° when equipped with the FOV Boost Lens. While 182° is the maximum optical FOV for this design, the actual field of view during shooting may vary slightly due to distortion correction and stabilization settings.
  19. Supported only on iOS devices and specific Android devices that support third-party live photo integration.
  20. This feature is compatible with devices that use third-party Bluetooth remote-control protocols. Examples include the HUAWEI WATCH 5, HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2, Wuyang-Honda motorcycles (G150, F125, NSP), Amazfit watches (T-Rex Ultra, CheetahPro, Falcon), Magene bike computers (C506, C606, C706), Giant bike computers (PLANET G9), and more. Please note that GPS Bluetooth remote controllers are sold separately.
  21. For fast wired data transfer [21], use the included USB-C to USB-C PD Cable (USB 3.1) to get speeds up to 300 MB/s. Wireless transfer speeds (in an interference-free environment) can also reach up to 80 MB/s for files on the built-in storage and up to 50 MB/s for files on an SD card.
  22. This data was measured in a controlled laboratory environment at 25° C (77° F) and is for reference only. The test was conducted using a USB-C charger (30W or higher) that supports the PD 3.0 protocol, with the camera's photo/video functions and screens turned off.
  23. On the Osmo Action 4 and Osmo Action 5 Pro, EIS is not available in Timelapse or Slow Motion modes. HorizonSteady is limited to 1080p/2.7K video (≤ 60fps) in a 16:9 aspect ratio, while HorizonBalancing supports 1080p/2.7K/4K video (≤ 60fps) in a 16:9 aspect ratio.
  24. Subject Tracking mode supports video up to 2.7K/60fps (in 16:9 and 9:16) but is only available when the camera is held horizontally. This feature is also not compatible with the Osmo Action 6 Macro Lens.
  25. This data is for reference only and was collected in a controlled lab environment. The maximum continuous recording times were measured at -20° C (-4° F) and 45° C (113° F), resulting in 167 minutes and 190 minutes, respectively. These tests were conducted while recording 1080p/24fps (16:9) video with RockSteady on, Wi-Fi off, and screens off.
