The LR1 Thermal Pro Upgrade is an essential add-on for operators who need high-resolution thermal imaging without sacrificing the incredible 61-megapixel RGB mapping capabilities of the standard LR1 payload. Designed to seamlessly integrate directly onto the existing LR1 gimbal, this upgrade transforms the Freefly Astro into a dual-sensor powerhouse for search and rescue, infrastructure inspection, energy asset monitoring, and advanced agricultural analysis.
Dual-Sensor Capability: By adding this module, your Astro captures both extremely high-resolution 61MP RGB imagery (via the Sony ILX-LR1) and high-quality thermal data simultaneously on the same flight path.
Boson Pro 640 Integration: At the heart of the upgrade is the FLIR Boson Pro 640 core, delivering exceptional thermal sensitivity and a crisp 640x512 resolution.
Live Video Streaming: The thermal video feed can be streamed directly to Auterion Mission Control (AMC), allowing operators to identify heat signatures or inspect assets in real time during the flight.
Synchronized Data Capture: Thermal images are captured directly to a dedicated SD card within the module, ensuring your data is safely stored and easy to manage alongside the RGB captures.

The upgrade kit includes all the necessary mounting hardware and counterweights to ensure the LR1 gimbal remains perfectly balanced:
