Just like the Phantom 4 Pro, the Advanced features a 1-inch, 20-megapixel camera with 12 stops of dynamic range. The Phantom 4 Advanced is capable of recording 4K/60fps vide at 100Mbps at a H.265 compression for amazing slow motion footage. It also features a mechanical shutter to eliminate rolling shutter when users are looking to capture fast moving subjects. The camera additionally features an adjustable aperture so that pilots can easily adjust their depth of field to expand the creativity of their shots.
Like the Phantom 4, the Phantom 4 Advanced features front and bottom facing sensors to autonomously detect obstacles in its path. This is a step down from the Phantom 4 Pro's complete 360 degree obstacle avoidance system.
The Phantom 4 Advances features 5 total vision sensors as well as dual satellite positioning systems including GPS and GLONASS. The drone additionally features ultrasonic range finders and redundant sensors, enabling Phantom 4 Advanced to fly as precisely as possible or hover in place without GPS. Its dual-forward vision sensors can also reach 30m in front of the aircraft for automatic braking, hovering, or detour functions relating to objects that are within a 15-meter range.

The drone like its predecessors has software that is constantly calculating the drones flight time and range. If the minimum amount of battery life is detected to Return to Home, a warning will appear on your screen. The Phantom's batteries will also discharge automatically to maintain health during long-term storage.
The Phantom 4 Advanced, similar to the Phantom 4 Pro, features a plus version that comes with a remote controller with a built-in 5.5 inch HD display. The screen displays key telemetry data and is 2x brighter in direct sunlight compared to any other mobile device.
The recently released Mavic Pro and Phantom 4 Pro both feature the option to switch between 2.4 Ghz and 5.8 Ghz for a stronger signal and reduced interference. The Phantom 4 Advanced only supports the 2.4 Ghz bandwidth.
