With the brand new Phantom 4 RTK, DJI has now created a system that fully meets the demands and requirements of the drone surveying and mapping market in one easy-to-use solution with a high-quality camera and the ability to capture centimetre-accurate RTK data. Upgrade your next mapping mission with the DJI Phantom 4 RTK - DJI's most accurate and compact low altitude mapping solution.
The Phantom 4 RTK feature a new RTK module integrated directly into the aircraft, providing users with real-time, centimetre-level positioning data for improved absolute accuracy on image metadata. Beneath the RTK receiver is a redundant GNSS module that is installed to maintain flight stability in poor-signal regions like dense cities.
By combining both modules the DJI Phantom 4 RTK is able to optimize flight safety and ensure that the most precise data is captured for complex mapping, inspection, and surveying workflows. Users can fit the Phantom 4 RTK to any workflow and can connect its positioning system to the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station, store the satellite observation data to be used for Post Processed Kinematics (PPK), or Network Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol (NTRIP) using a 4G dongle or WiFi hotspot.
To unlock the full power of the Phantom 4 RTK's positioning modules, the new TimeSync system was created to continually align the data from the flight controller, RTK module, and camera. Additionally, TimeSync ensures that each photo uses the most accurate metadata and fixes the positioning data to the centre of the CMOS sensor, ultimately optimizing the results from photogrammetric methods to allow the image to achieve centimetre-level positioning data.
With the Phantom 4 RTK users will capture high-quality image data thanks to the cameras 1-inch, 20-megapixel CMOS sensor. The camera also features a mechanical shutter, making mapping missions or regular data capture seamless. With the mechanical shutter, users can move the drone while taking pictures without the risk of rolling shutter blur.
With the high-resolution camera, the Phantom 4 RTK can also achieve a Ground Sample Distance (GSD) of 2.74 cm at 100 metres flight altitude. To ensure each Phantom 4 RTK offers unparalleled accuracy, every single camera lens goes through an extremely rigorous calibration process where tangential and radial lens distortion are measured. The distortion parameters are then gathered and saved into each image's metadata, letting post-processing software adjust uniquely for every operator.
With the new GS RTK app, pilots are able to intelligently control their Phantom 4 RTK with two different planning modes, Waypoint, and Photogrammetry, alongside a more traditional flight mode. The planning modes let pilots select the drones flight path while adjusting overlap rate, speed, altitude, camera parameters and more, offering users an automated inspection or mapping workflow.
The GS RTK app has also been built with operators in mind to improve specific inspection or mapping workflows. The app has also implemented direct loading of KML area files for in-office flight planning, a strong wind alarm to warn pilots of more extreme conditions, and a new shutter priority mode to keep exposure consistent across all photos.
Keep track of operations and conduct regular, accurate measurements and maps of your construction site.
Collect data and better analyze your crops to measure yield, detect rising concerns, and more.
Conduct detailed inspections of assets with decreased risk of interference and lost connection.
