Frequently Asked Questions

DJI FlyCart 100

Flight Platform

In what ways has the maximum payload capacity evolved since the release of the DJI FlyCart 30?

The DJI FC100 offers a substantial upgrade in lifting power over the FC30, supporting a maximum payload of 100 kg in single-battery mode and 85 kg when utilizing a dual-battery configuration for increased redundancy.

The dual-battery payload limit includes all lifting hardware (cables, hooks, and compartments). The DJI Delivery App will suggest a safe maximum load based on your current environment and drone status. Never exceed this recommended weight, as doing so compromises flight safety.

Can the DJI FlyCart 100 fly in the rain or snow?

While the aircraft carries an IP55 protection rating, this level of resistance is not permanent and may degrade over time due to natural wear and aging. Note that this rating excludes the propulsion system. Following operations in wet conditions (specifically precipitation exceeding 24.9 mm over 24 hours), the aircraft should idle on the ground for one minute. This allows centrifugal force and airflow to clear moisture, mitigating the risk of corrosion or rust within the motors.

What are the FC100's flight capabilities?

  • Max Velocity (S Mode): 20 m/s
  • Mission Route Speed: 15 m/s
  • Service Ceiling: 6,000 m

Is ADS-B supported?

A connected payload is required for operation. Currently, this is only compatible with the DJI FlyCart 100 Flagship Winch System.

What is the main purpose of the anti-icing propellers?

In cold, high-humidity conditions, the anti-icing propellers serve as a critical safety measure. They effectively slow ice accumulation and maintaining aerodynamic integrity.

* Anti-icing propellers need to be purchased separately.

Payload

Which payload systems are supported?

The aircraft is compatible with two primary payload configurations: the DJI FlyCart 100 Flagship Winch System and the DJI Dual-Battery Lifting System.

How do the Flagship Winch and Lifting Systems differ?

The DJIFC 100 Flagship Winch System features cable release and retrieval, electric hook On/Off, real-time weighing, and abandonment of the cable for emergency release. The DJI Dual-Battery Lifting System features real-time weighing, auto balance control, and cable-cut escape. Pilots can flexibly choose the payload type based on the requirements of the operation.

  • Use the Winch System if you are delivering to a place where the drone can't land (like a steep hill or a forest).
  • Use the Lifting System for standard deliveries where you want the most stable flight possible.

Is the DJI Dual-Battery Lifting System's landing gear compatible with the T100?

Yes, the DJI FC100 and T100 are both compatible with the DJI Dual-Battery Lifting System.

What are the primary technical distinctions between the FC100 and FC30 winch systems, and do they share cross-platform compatibility?

The DJI FC100 Winch System is a complete structural redesign and is not interchangeable with the FC30 system. It introduces a dual-motor configuration that delivers higher power, a longer internal cable, and significantly faster deployment and retrieval speeds. Additionally, the FC100 system features an integrated electric hook, which was not present on the FC30 version.

How is the Electric Hook controlled?

The electric hook mechanism supports dual-mode operation, allowing for remote actuation via the controller or direct manual control using the onboard button.

Does the electric hook need to be charged separately? How long does a full charge last?

Yes, the electric hook needs to be charged. It supports wireless charging as well as Type-C. A single full charge can last for approximately 10 hours. The hook supports real-time wireless charging when retracted, allowing it to maintain a constant power level during use.

Does the Electric Hook need firmware updates? How do I update it?

To update the system, connect your remote controller with a data cable using either the DJI Delivery App or DJI Assistant 2 (Transport Series) on a computer. Wireless updates are not available at this time.

Why doesn't the DJI FC100 have a cargo mode?

The current two-system payload design effectively covers most mission requirements.

What precautions should people be aware of when using the DJI FC100?

1. Do not overload the FC100 during delivery.
2. Do not operate the drone in extreme weather.
3. Check the surroundings before take off, pay attention to warning messages on the remote controller.
4. When air-unloading the goods, wait until the aircraft has left the area before picking up the goods.

Safety System

What key improvements have been made to the safety system?

This upgrade introduces an integrated LiDAR system with high point cloud density for superior obstacle identification. Real-time point cloud imaging provides pilots with enhanced situational awareness of the aircraft's surroundings. Furthermore, the system now features a penta-vision sensor array and a refined millimeter-wave radar algorithm for optimized detection.

What is the Penta-Vision System?

  • Redundant Safety Layers: Acts as a vital supplement to LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar, creating a comprehensive, multi-layered safety perception suite.

  • Ground-Level Awareness: Scans the immediate vicinity during takeoff and landing, actively identifying and highlighting hazards like utility poles and vehicles within the live feed.

  • Adaptive Visual Feedback: Automatically toggles to the most relevant camera angle when obstacles are detected, allowing the pilot to assess the situation instantly.

What is the minimum deployment altitude required for the parachute to function effectively?

Operating at sea level in a 25°C windless environment with a maximum payload (dual-battery mode), the DJI FC100 requires a minimum deployment altitude of 100 m. Under these conditions, the system achieves a terminal descent velocity of 7 m/s.
